Real Estate is not just a profession or job for me, it is my ministry and opportunity to be a vessel in helping to open doors, opportunities and changing lives.
I live by, "faith without work is dead, with faith and work, all things are possible"
Gertrude H. Taylor is a native of Hopewell, Virginia. She matriculated through the Hopewell Public
School System then attended St. Paul’s College where she earned her BA in Sociology. She continued
her education receiving a Childcare Certificate form John Tyler Community College utilizing her degree
to set up and direct the Ephesians Learning Center. Later, she expanded her studies to include Real
Estate Training through the Mosley Flint School of Real Estate and a Master of Education from Virginia
State University.
Gertrude was always passionate about education. When she was a child, she taught her first student to
read. She believes in educating people in all aspects of life and so have been able to help many families
in the Tri-City area change their lives and realize their dreams whether it was college, career or
becoming homeowners.
Gertrude has always been a diligent, committed worker. As a child, her first job was selling brown eggs
door to door. Who knew that this would prove to be training for her career aspirations, and life. She
was able to purchase her first house without using a realtor as well as, write her first contract on an
investment property.
Gertrude recalls a church leadership conference she attended where she received a spoken work over
her life that she would become a realtor. At that time, it did not mean anything; but she found herself
buying and enjoying having fun with real estate. That is when she enrolled into the Mosley Flint School
of Real Estate and became a licensed Realtor for the state of Virginia and place her licensure with
Century 21 C F Scott Inc. When C. F. Scott Inc. went out of business, she transferred her license to
Century 21 Colonial. Because Gertrude believes in giving back and sowing seeds, she has been able to
help several individuals become Realtors.
Because Gertrude is an avid educator, before she takes any clients out to look for a home, she makes
sure that they fully understand the process of buying a home, have them to complete a budget sheet to
see if they can afford a house and then she takes them out to see house. Gertrude always has her
client’s best interest at heart. This strategy has proven to be a blessing for both Gertrude and clients
and has led to many people who thought they could not afford a home, becoming homeowners.
Educating the client and helping them to understand their finances has caused Gertrude’s 22 years as a
Realtor to be all worth the while.
Gertrude Taylor is well known in the community, school districts and the faith-based community. One
of her loves, other than her grandbaby, is praise dancing; and she has made a decree to dance until she
is eighty. As of today, she continues to do just that!
I have been working in the real estate industry since October 2016, and I have loved every moment and I still do. I have a passion for helping people and I just so happen to enjoy viewing homes, being very optimistic about the endless possibilities of home ownership and the vast real estate options available.
As YOUR realtor, I am able to provide you with a successful journey with your real estate needs. My home office is equipped with many years of real estate experience, and with this experience my hope is to help our clients achieve their real estate goals successfully. With each transaction, through every detail, I will provide you with a customer service experience filled with honesty, integrity, great energy, and hard work. As we begin our journey, I pledge to make sure my clients receive an answer to their questions – and if I don’t know the answer I will work hard to get the answers.
My goal is to make buying or selling your home a trustworthy and great experience! "Turning Dreamz 2 Keyz" is my mission, let me help you.
As a real estate agent, I put thorough communication,
professionalism, and service at the forefront for all of my clients. My ability
to connect and understand my clients' goals and needs ensures that they are
provided with the utmost satisfaction and attention to detail.
Before becoming a real estate agent, I received my Bachelor of
Arts from St. Leo University and worked with the Defense Commissary Agency as a
systems accountant. My degree and time as a system accountant helped strengthen
my communication skills. So transitioning to real estate was a natural step, as
I have utilized my invaluable listening and interpersonal skills to represent
my buyers and sellers through every step of their real estate journey.
I value forming personal relationships with my clients while
also being their biggest advocate for their current and future real estate
needs. My greatest satisfaction is seeing my buyers and sellers feel confident
in their decisions.
I've worshiped, worked, and called the Tricities home for over
30 years. When I'm not working, you can find me gardening, singing in my church choir, or doing
missionary work.
My number one priority as a realtor is creating and building
strong, long-lasting relationships when working with buyers and sellers. I take
pride in getting to know my clients as individuals while providing open and
honest communication that puts their best interests first.
Before becoming a realtor, I worked as a mail carrier for the
United States Postal Service for 13 years. During this time, I noticed that the
personal relationships I developed with people along my routes is what I valued
the most.
I worked with Century 21 Colonial Realty when buying and selling
my last home. My agent allowed me to see how important it is for an agent to
connect with clients to help them achieve their real estate goals. My
experience working with Debra, and everything I learned in my former career,
made transitioning into real estate a natural step.
Originally from Chester,
VA, I now live in Colonial Heights with my husband and two children. We love
summer, so often we are at the beach or lake, enjoying time together. My
husband and I are also in a bowling league, traveling to state and national
tournaments to play.
My mission as a Realtor® is to provide inspiration and
extraordinary experiences for each client. I partner with and develop
strategies for my clients so that they can realize their real estate goals
while making the best financial decisions. I am my client's strongest advocate
during real estate transactions.
I personally experienced situations as a first-time home buyer
that inspired me to become a Realtor®. I saw an opportunity to provide people
with resources, knowledge, and education to navigate and feel comfortable with
each step of the buying and selling process.
From playing organized basketball and softball, and a former
member of a racquetball league, I have recognized the value of teamwork.
Working with buyers and sellers is no different; teams are formed and the
Realtor® and seller or buyer are members of the team. We strive for the end
goal of a successful real estate transaction.
As a Century 21 Colonial Realty agent, I work closely with a
great group of professionals and continually grow my skills to enhance my
clients' experiences.
Professional
experience in real estate, excellent customer service, and a commitment to hard
work are what characterize me as a real estate agent. I listen to my clients
and follow through with their requests and needs to make sure I give them the
best service possible. My goal is for my clients to feel like part of the
family.
My background in business and sales made the switch to real estate a natural move forward. I began my real estate career fifteen years ago and earned the title “Rookie of
the Year” that first year. I have also been a leading top producer for all
fifteen years, most years earning “Million Dollar Producer” with the Southside
Virginia Association of Realtors association.
I
recognize and value the trust my clients place in me, and I strive every day to
exceed their expectations. I maintain those relationships by communicating effectively
with all of my clients. Let me help you with your next buying or selling
transaction. I am here to serve you!
Dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate about being a valuable
resource for my buyers and sellers is who I am as a real estate agent. I'm
committed to providing my clients with everything they need to make the best
decision for themselves while taking the stress out of the process.
As a Colonial Heights native, I have first-hand experience
watching the community grow over the years. My intimate knowledge of this area
and my experiences of living here all of my life give me the confidence and
desire to help others achieve their real estate goals.
Before becoming a realtor, I worked for the City of Colonial
Heights Finance Department for 42 years. My experience in finance provided me
with valuable skills and a strong foundation for helping others that I now use
daily in real estate negotiations, educating homebuyers and sellers, and
effectively marketing listings.
I met Bettye and Century 21 Colonial Realty when my son
purchased his first home and admired her work ethic from day one. When I became
a realtor, I knew no other place I wanted to call home than at Colonial
Realty!
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my two
wonderful sons, Jeremy and Ryan. My two biggest hobbies are hunting for sea
glass and antique picking. You most likely will find me exploring the Outer
Banks for sea glass because I enjoy the area's history- you never know what
treasure you may find!
As a
native Virginian, I love this state and this area. I have spent most of my life
right here and have a passion for the people and this city. My goal as your
Realtor is to find you the perfect fit for your needs and to advocate for you
throughout the process. I take pride in my work and always strive to do
whatever I can for my clients.
I
attended Mary Washington College and then taught school in Prince William
County for two years. I married and moved to New York with my husband where I
had two jobs. I worked as a test kitchen home economist for four years, and my
husband and I managed a group home for Catholic charities as the surrogate
parents to nine adolescent boys for a year. It during this year that my oldest
child was born.
We moved
back to Virginia, and I earned my real estate license and worked as a Realtor in
Culpeper for two years. When we moved back to the Colonial Heights area, I worked
first in Petersburg and then in Colonial Heights. I found my final realty home
at Century 21 Colonial Realty on the Boulevard. I had pursued my broker’s license
and became an assistant broker first, bought into the company with Bobby Fisher
and Jim Wilkinson, and then when Jim retired, I became the principal broker and
co-owner of Century 21 Colonial Realty. Since Bobby’s passed in the spring of
2020, I am now the only principal broker and owner of Century 21 Colonial
Realty.
When
I am not busy working, which is rare to be sure, I enjoy spending time with my
two children, their spouses, and my five grandchildren. I also enjoy spending
time at the river and catching up with good friends.
With
over 45 years of experience, I know how to help clients in almost any situation
whether buying or selling. If you are real estate ready, call Bettye!
